Cyber Security Board
According to the Electronic Communications Law numbered 5809, under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, Cyber Security Council was established.
Duties of Cyber Security Board are listed as;
- To determine cyber security measures to be taken in accordance with the current legislation,
- To confirm prepared plans, program, principles and procedures and standards and
- To ensure implementation and coordination of them.
Within this scope regulations were published and action plans were prepared. According these plans studies are carried out, sectoral, national and international cyber security exercises are performed. Moreover, information and awareness-raising activities, seminars and conferences were organized.
Cyber Security Board Meetings
National Cyber Security Strategy and Action Plan for 2013-2014 was approved at the first meeting of the Cyber Security Board which was conducted on 20 October 2012. ICTA of Turkey has participated and contributed to preparatory studies of meetings of Cyber Security Council. ICTA also played significant role on establishment of institutional and sectoral Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERT) according to the fourth action item of the action plan.
The second and third meetings of the Cyber Security Board was held on 20 January 2013 and 12 October 2013 respectively. Progress and other developments about cyber security in Turkey was reviewed and new decisions were taken related to cyber security.
